Following the publication of the new report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), action is more urgently needed than ever. The challenges facing society have to be focused and solved now through the interdisciplinary collaboration of industrial and user experience designers, material developers, city planners and architects.

We want to accelerate the connections and collaborations between individual actors in the required transformation.

The Side Events are a forum placed in different locations from Friday till Sunday virtually connected with whole Europe.

Rethinking Products - overcoming obsolescence

The events focuses a transformation and the interplay of examples from the fields of sustainable industrial and user experience design, sustainable material development and material cycles, digitalization, public mobility  and architecture. The influences and interrelationships of these areas on the use of resources, emissions and circular economy will be explained. 

The Side Events will take place in different locations in Germany and will be open to everyone. Also it is possible to take part using a video-conference tool. The participants will discuss the needed fundamental change in politics, economics, technology and society.

Workshops, talks and discussions will highlight focal points and goals of the above mentioned challenges of the future and develop possible solutions. In addition, young talents, designers and participants will offer their views on a livable, sustainable future.

The events will be held in German and are free of charge.
